Seattle Man Arrested After Assault Over Loud Music Dispute

A Seattle resident was arrested following an incident at the DESC Northstar apartment complex, where a noise complaint escalated into an alleged assault. The altercation, which took place on February 14, 2025, at approximately 10:30 PM, involved Taylor Brixner, who is alleged to have punched his neighbor, Clifford Burgess, in the face.

According to the Seattle Police Department's report, officers responded to a call regarding an assault at the Northstar DESC located at 924 N 143 St. Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim, Clifford Burgess, who reported that his neighbor Brixner attacked him due to his loud music.

Burgess, who sustained a swollen left eye from the punch, declined immediate medical attention but later agreed to be transported to Northwest Hospital. Officer Brent Welte, the responding officer, reviewed surveillance footage confirming Burgess's account of the incident: Brixner punched him without physical provocation.

In his statement to the police, Brixner admitted to the assault, claiming he acted because Burgess had raised his cane at him, a claim not supported by the video footage. Brixner was arrested, read his Miranda rights, and transported to the North Precinct before being booked at King County Jail.

The incident underlines ongoing tensions in community living situations, highlighting how grievances over noise can unexpectedly lead to violent confrontations.
