In the early hours of May 26, 2025, officers responded to a disturbance call at a fast-food restaurant on 3rd Avenue. The incident involved Montrell Givens, who was reported to be brandishing a stick and making threats towards employees at the establishment.

Upon arrival, officers observed Givens standing at the front counter with a stick, refusing multiple commands from the police to disarm. Witnesses reported that Givens demanded free food and swung the stick towards the cashier, hitting the cash register in the process. The cashier, described as frightened, confirmed the threatening behavior.

Givens was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted robbery in the second degree. During the arrest process, he was read his Miranda Rights, though he did not acknowledge them. No cash was taken during the incident, and the only property reportedly held by Givens was the stick.
