Security Guard Assaulted by Trespasser Armed with Pot Roast

A bizarre incident unfolded at a community market in Columbia City when a man, previously banned from the premises, attempted to enter the store. The suspect, Evan D. Williams, was already known to staff for previous trespassing attempts, but this encounter took a violent turn.
According to police reports, the altercation began when Austin Miller, a security officer from Praetorian Security, asked Williams to leave the property. The defendant resisted and was described as becoming agitated, allegedly threatening Miller with a knife.
The situation escalated when Williams resorted to hitting Miller in the head with a pot roast, which he already had in his possession. Fortunately, the confrontation did not result in any visible injuries for Miller, though he reported some pain in his right eye from the impact.
Williams, described as a man in his forties to fifties with long dreadlocks, was wearing a bright Seahawks fleece. After the attack, he fled the scene heading westbound, but was later apprehended by authorities responding to a similar robbery in the area.
Evan D. Williams was arrested for robbery and harassment and is facing charges including felony harassment and fourth-degree assault. Upon his arrest, Williams reportedly stated that he committed the assault because he found it amusing. He was booked into King County Jail, and police are continuing to monitor the situation as the legal process unfolds.
