Man Arrested for Theft at Downtown Retail Store

On March 27, 2025, a shoplifting incident was reported at a well-known retail store located in the heart of the city. Officer Vontrail Lee responded to the call and discovered that the defendant, William Walton Irvin, selected an umbrella and various clothing items, attempting to exit the store without making a purchase.

Edgar Cortes, a loss prevention officer at the store, informed Officer Lee that Irvin had removed the security tag from a hat, placed it on his head, and concealed additional hats under his garments. The total value of the items was reported to be $108.10.

Upon arrival, Officer Lee identified that Irvin had an outstanding municipal warrant for assault, which contributed to his arrest. Officer Robert Dunwoody transported Irvin to King County Jail, while Sergeant Walker Dickson supervised the arrest.

The merchandise Irvin attempted to steal was recovered, although one hat was deemed unusable. The case has been documented in an official offense report.
