Assault Incident at Almquist Place Involves Instant Noodles

Early morning on March 13, officers from the police department responded to an incident at Almquist Place, a housing complex located at 501 Rainier Ave S. The confrontation arose after a resident, identified as Jeremy Wiscomb, allegedly assaulted an employee with a hot cup of instant noodles.

The situation unfolded when Tanesha Bowens, an employee at Almquist Place, informed Wiscomb that he could not receive a second cup of noodles as it was a courtesy, not a right. Angered by this, Wiscomb reportedly attempted to force his way through the lobby door. When confronted by Bowens, he allegedly threw the noodles at her, causing a burning sensation on her face.

A witness, Torrai Schell, corroborated the events, reporting he heard Wiscomb yelling obscenities before seeing the noodles thrown at Bowens. Schell also identified Wiscomb as he left the scene via the elevator. Bowens and Schell, both employees at Almquist, were able to identify Wiscomb from previous interactions.

Police were unable to locate Wiscomb in his apartment following the incident. The authorities developed probable cause to arrest him for assault in the fourth degree as they continue the search for the suspect. Photos and other evidence from the scene have been uploaded to the investigation database.
