Man Arrested in Seattle McDonald's Incident for Alleged Threats and Harassment

In an incident at a McDonald's located at 2336 25th Ave S in Seattle, a man identified as Johnny Ray Coleman was arrested on February 18, 2025, following reports of making threats with a knife. Responding to the scene, Officers Cody Alidon and Serge Avakian detained Coleman after he allegedly refused to vacate the premises and threatened restaurant staff.
Coleman, described as a Black male in his 50s wearing a black sweater and pants, reportedly had a large butcher knife on a table in front of him, though it was not brandished. Maria Guadalupe Navarrete, a restaurant employee, stated that when she asked Coleman to leave, he responded with aggressive language, telling her to 'go back to your country' and threatening to stab her. This prompted Navarrete to back away in fear and call 911.
Other witnesses, all Hispanic individuals, corroborated Navarrete's account. During a search following Coleman's arrest, a plastic butcher knife matching the description given by Navarrete was found. The police report suggests Coleman's remark regarding returning 'to your country' was intended as a racial insult.
Booked into King County Jail on charges of felony harassment, Coleman denied any wrongdoing when informed of his Miranda rights. This incident ties Coleman to another harassment case at a nearby QFC location for which probable cause for arrest had already been developed. The arrest was supervised and approved by a Sergeant on scene.
